PHOTOGRAPHY IS MAGIC

Photography freezes a moment in time, a moment that will never happen again in that exact way. Without it, those moments will eventually be forgotten. With it, we can always remember being backstage with Johnny Cash, the smile of a newborn baby, that time the cat knocked everything off the counter, or the exact way the light struck the George Washington Bridge, even if we weren’t there when it happened. That moment has been captured forever and can be shared with everyone.

IF THAT'S NOT MAGIC, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS

Rob had had a perfect day at the beach. The sun was warm but the breeze was cool, and he managed to get a good swim in. He went back to the hotel, got himself cleaned up, put on a smooth black shirt, and checked himself in the mirror before heading down to the bar. He paid the cover charge and gave the bouncer a nod as he moved inside. The music was loud, but the band was killer. Rob got himself a beer and worked his way out onto the dance floor, his glass held high and his hips swaying to the music. He took a step to the side and accidentally bumped into a guy with slicked back hair and muscles rippling from the very short sleeves of his t-shirt. "Watch where you're going, bro!" Vinny shouted as he checked Rob with his shoulder. Rob's almost full glass shuddered with the movement, and a small splash of beer spilled over the edge and onto Vinny's shirt. Vinny looked down at it in disbelief, then back up at Rob. "Yo, I'm gonna kill you, bro!" Rob watched passively. "Hey, man, I'm really sorry. It was an accident. Let me buy you a drink?" Vinny beat his chest and spread his arms wide. "You want a piece of me, bro? Huh? You want a piece of this?" Rob sighed and stared Vinny down. So much for his perfect day.
